Swinging London: Wins Again At Southwell

Pontefract-23rd April 2026

London returned to his favourite Southwell, where he travelled well for Finley Marsh, to get up close home to win by a neck, giving us another brilliant day.

London returned to turf over 1m 4f, he cruised into connection off the home turn, only to find trouble in running in the last furlong, where the jockey had to stop riding. We are confident with a clear run he would have won!

London was back at his favourite Southwell, where he finished fourth again for PJ McDonald beaten only 2 lengths.

London went to Sedgefield for the stiffer two miles and was held up off the pace under Ben Jones. He travelled well into the race given alot to do and stayed on to finish fourth.

Warwick- 11th December 2025

London ran on our sponsored race day at Warwick over 2 miles 5 furlongs. Ridden by Jack Andrews he cruised along in behind the leaders and looked in a good position turning for home, he weakened in the final furlong and Jack thought he didn’t quite stay the trip.

Leicester- 17th November 2025

London returned to hurdles at the venue where we claimed him from. Ridden by Ben Jones he jumped nicely and got to the front a little earlier than ideal he went down fighting only getting touched off on the line to be beaten a short head.

Turning out again quite quickly, London ran well in the very wet ground at Nottingham to finish fourth again under Warren Fentiman.

Newcastle- 17th October 2025

Ridden by Warren Fentiman, London made the long trip to Newcastle a winning one. Battling on strongly to win by a short head to record his fourth victory.

Returned to the flat in hideous conditions at Chester, London battled hard through the heavy ground to finish third ridden by Joe Levey.

Ridden by Paddy Hanlon London had a spin over hurdles at his local track, he stayed on really well in the home straight to finish seventh beaten only 6 3/4 lenghts in a competitive handicap hurdle.

Back at one of his favourite tracks London ran a solid race to finish seventh again. He looks very much in the grip of the handicapper at the moment.

Returning from his well deserved spring break, London returned in an amatuer riders race at Haydock, running a good race but he was slightly out paced. He gave his jockey some great experience and he is sure to come on for the run.

Swinging London: Finishes The Competition with 46 points.

Wolverhampton- 7th April 2025

On his sixteenth and final run of the competition London battled on to finish 4th and pick up some more points to finish on a total of 46 points for the competition. He has remained a model of consistency throughout the winter months and been ridden by 10 different jockeys always giving his all. John and his team have done a terrific job with him and he is now having a well deserved spring break.

Third again for London and more points in his quest in the All-Weather Bonus Series. He ran another great race and Finley was delighted with him and he scored some more points

Swinging London was back out with Ryan Sexton on board on this occasion he travelled into the race well and was only beaten a short head securing two more points in his overall quest for the ARC all-weather bonus.

Swinging London teamed up with Paul Mulrennan over the extended two miles at Newcastle. The pace was slow through out and turned into a sprint. London made good headway off the slow pace and was hampered during the last furlong. He still picked up some points in his challenge for the overall bonus.

Wolverhampton- 11th February 2025

Swinging London reunited with Finley Marsh racked up some more points with another third this time at Wolverhampton. He remains in really good form and is a credit to John and the team.

Swinging London returned to Southwell this time ridden by Sean Levey he finished well off a slow pace only beaten half a length and picked up some more points in the overall all-weather ARC bonus scheme.

Swinging London returned to Southwell upped back up in distance under Billy Loughnane. In a slowly run race he was keen in the early stages but got a lovely run turning for home, he stayed on strongly to win by half a length.

Swinging London: Fourth Upped in Grade and Two More Points

Swinging London returned to Southwell and upped in grade he was sent off the outsider of the field but given his recent form he ran a great race to finish 4th doing his best work at the finish. Crucially he picked up another 2 points in his quest for the ARC All-Weather Championship.

Swinging London: Second in ARC December Championship

Swinging London found his confidence and secured two wins and a second during December in the ARC all-weather one million bonus series. This has resulted in a tied 2nd place finish in the monthly ratings and a share of a £10,000 bonus. The performances in December built on improved form in November to give him a current overall standing of 7th place in the “horse of the year”

The bonus series runs through until April, competing horses can secure points for each of their first three runs in any given month. 5 pts for a win, 4 pts for second and so on down to 1 point for 5th. The bonus series applies across ARC four all-weather racecourses, Lingfield, Newcastle, Southwell, & Wolverhampton.

Swinging London will need to overcome a 12lb rise in the handicap, which will obviously be a challenge, he will be targeted at races towards the middle/end of January at Newcastle and Southwell where we hope to pick up points and stay in contention for the horse of the year and who knows the £100,000 bonus prize.

Swinging London: Second win in two days!

Newcastle- 12th December 2024. Following his win on Tuesday London followed up on Thursday, this time ridden by Jack Doughty. Back down to a mile and half he won nicley winning by 2 1/4 lengths.

Swinging London: Wins at Southwell

Southwell- 10th December 2024. After a string of 2nds London finally got his head in front and won by 3 1/2 lengths. Given a patient ride by Finley Marsh he came through to lead inside the final furlong and win going away.

Swinging London: Second This Time at Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton- 2nd December 2024. London finished second for the third time but this time at Wolverhampton. Ridden by Calum Hutchinson he always held a good position before breezing to the front only to be caught close home.

Lingfield- 19th November 2024. London continued his good run of placed efforts with another second at Lingfield under Finley Marsh, he was beaten 3 3/4 lengths but was well ahead of the third horse. We hope he gets his deserved first success on the flat soon.

Southwell- 7th November 2024. London ran another solid race for champion apprentice Sean D Bowen beaten 1 3/4 lengths by the favourite Fast Fred. Sean was pleased with his run and thinks he may be even better going over slightly further.

Swinging London: Third at Southwell

Southwell- 31st October 2024. Following his run last week, London ran a blinder to be third leading for most of the way he was just done for a little bit of pace to an improving rival.

Southwell- 24th October 2024. London went back to Southwell and ran a good race to finish 6th in a competitive handicap over 1m 3f he ended up on the wrong side from the pace as the winner came down the stand side.

Sedgefield- 9th October 2024. London had a great spin over hurdles with Paddy Hanlon on board, having fallen in his last two starts with his previous trainer we were keen for him to have a nice time and Paddy gave him a great ride. He stayed on well to only be beaten 5 3/4 lengths it total and this would have done his confidence the world of good.

Chester 10th May 2024. London finished fourth beaten 6 3/4 lengths in a competitive £10,000 handicap at the Boodles May Festival at Chester Racecourse.

Southwell 20th March 2024. London finished fourth beaten 5 1/4 lengths getting revenge on his old rival Caldwell who had beaten him previously.

Southwell 24th February 2024. Upped in trip the race was run at a very slow pace, which turned into a sprint which did not suit our horse.
