While Stan Moore’s stable isn’t as sizeable as some of the big flat trainers, he still enjoys fantastic success. After an extremely accomplished riding career Moore set up his own stable at Berkeley House and has been firing winners in ever since.

Stan was taught by two of the greats of the game in Paddy Prendergast and Vincent O’Brien. Stan has not only developed a knack of training winners from these two, but has a talented eye himself for buying horses whose performances have far outweighed what their price tags may suggest.

Stan’s training successes include Barathea Dreams’ who won the 2004 Esher Cup and 2005 Spring Mile. Not only has Stan trained winners in the UK, he has also seen success overseas in Dubai at the International Racing Carnival. Resulting in Stan being crowned the leading European trainer in 2007.

2007 was a memorable year for Stan won the richest 2 year old race, the totescoop6 Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar with Dubai Dynamo, he repeated that success with Total Gallery in 2008. The latter would then go on to give Stan his biggest day winning the Group 1 Prix de L’Abbaye at Longchamp in 2009. Stan’s wife Sara is a key member of the team and is one of the top amateur jockey’s in the world, representing England in the prestigious Fengentri Series. Stan currently has 29 horses in training.

Stan is one of life’s characters, his Irish charm and warm sense of humour makes him great fun to be with both on and off the course. He has the ability to make racehorse ownership a very enjoyable experience.
