Yeats Baby is an excellent acquisition and joins the Eventmasters Racing team having been acquired at the Doncaster HIT Sales May 2019. She had been stepped up to 3M handicap hurdles and enjoyed  instant success with 3 victories and 1 place from her last 4 tuns, the place being when dropping in distance to 2½M. She will go novice chasing next season. Our Racing Manager, Simon Christian commented:

“Yeats Baby did well as a staying hurdler last season, winning three races and approx. £29,000 in prize money. Her final run of the season being a win at the Ayr Scottish Grand National Meeting in the spring.

Viewing her with trainer Zoe Davison and her partner Andrew Irvine we all agreed that we liked her, although not overly big we all thought that she would jump a fence. She is lengthy, with a good honest head, an active step to her and had a sensible attitude throughout the sales.

Yeats, her sire, was an outstanding stayer winning seven Group 1 races including a record four Ascot Gold Cups. He is doing very well as a National Hunt sire. On her dams side she is from a French family, with the first four dams all successful on the racecourse and at stud. She will retain a value after her racing career for breeding purposes.

Currently, Yeats Baby is enjoying a deserved spell at grass. She has a proven liking for good to fast ground and will be aimed for an autumn and spring campaign. Zoe will school the 7yo mare over fences and cross country when she’s back in work and has said she may well run the mare in a hurdle race before going novice chasing.”

We are great believers in having a plan, when owning racehorses it doesn’t always come off, but when it does it is a wonderful feeling! We think Yeats Baby will make a useful novice chaser and will be targeting 3M plus staying handicap chases during the 2019/20 National Hunt Season. In particular Mares Novice Chases.

Cheltenham Racecourse stage a Mares only fixture each year which will take place on Thursday 16th April 2020 in a two day Meeting. Part of the card includes a 3M 2F handicap chase and Yeats Baby will have this race as her main end of season target.

Part of the shareholder benefits of joining this syndicate is that 2 places in the Eventmasters Grandstand Box at Cheltenham on this date with full hospitality will be included within the cost.
