The latest Eventmasters Racing acquisition, Turanga Leela, proved to be an instant hit in 2016. After winning a claimer in impressive fashion at Lingfield for Tom Dascombe, the two-year-old filly was quickly snapped up by our syndicate and moved to the yard of Ian Williams. Just 11-days later she teamed up with Silvestre De Sousa to take a nursery handicap at Chester in style. Making all from the front she showed great character and speed to see off her rivals by one-length.
That run was followed by a tremendous run in another nursey handicap, this time at the York Ebor Festival – where she finished just five-and-a-quarter lengths behind the winner in a competitive 19-runner race. After an agonising loss at Nottingham, she finished her season with another creditable run at Doncaster’s Racing Post Trophy Meeting.
As a three-year she is sure to develop and we are looking forward to the 2017 flat season.
